This is a true story, based on what happened when Bad Halo Comix premiered our very first promo poster at Comic Book World.
Events happened in real time...
So it was a beautiful morning, Wednesday, July 30th, when I walked into the equally beautiful Comic Book World. It was new comic book day, and as always Doug was afoot, seeing to the business of his... business.
Before long, Doug allowed me to set up a table where eager readers could grab a free copy of August's issue of Cavalcade of Chaos, alongside the previous two issues. And before Doug hung our beautiful poster in his beautiful shop, it sat prominently, beckoning to all who would behold its glory.
Just look at the expression of joy on Doug's face. He loves Bad Halo Comix and can't wait for each issue. Why, I'd say it's the highlight of his month!
I was almost aghast and taken aback when he began to jump up and down, flailing his arms to and fro and grabbing onto anything nearby to bring it smashing down on the table which displayed our comics. My, he was so happy he fumed with pride.
With a stiff hand, ready to pat me on the back the way any proud mentor would, Doug took me to one knee (so great was his enthusiasm!) and through shaking lips and sweat asked me a number of questions I couldn't understand, as the blood was racing to my head and cutting off my hearing.
I was so happy I almost lost the ability to take in air. Doug's grip was very proud.
I'm pretty sure I lost consciousness.
But it was totally worth it.
